The Kennedy Theatre at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa is the home base for the productions of the Department of Theatre + Dance. Designed by internationally-renowned architect I.M. Pei and opened in 1963, the 620-seat Kennedy Theatre is the site for elaborate Asian and Hawaiian theatre productions, Western theatre classics, and contemporary works, as well as dance performances. The companion 140-seat black box Earle Ernest Lab Theatre focuses on experimental works and thesis projects by students.
Kennedy Theatre hosts a variety of performances, exhibitions, and showcases throughout the year, including four plays on their main stage for one week each, as well as four plays in the Earle Ernest Lab Theatre, and a rotating number of conceptual/experimental works. Visit their website or call the school for more information.
