Founded in 1955, the Honolulu Theatre for Youth is one of the oldest and most respected children’s theatres in the country, having served over five million people through school and family performances and drama education programs. Over 300 new plays for young audiences have been commissioned by HTY, which works primarily through the public and private school systems in the state to reach more than 70,000 school children on the six major islands of Hawaii.

Honolulu Theatre for Youth plays open on a Friday, then run for several consecutive Saturdays, with six original plays produced per season, from August through May. Tickets are available online, or by visiting or calling the box office. Additionally, the theatre hosts a variety of workshops, children’s events, educational programming, and more throughout the year.
