CENTRAL THEATRE ARTS ACADEMY PRESENTS
RENT, SCHOOL EDITION

HONOLULU (September 4, 2018)– Central Theatre Arts Academy (Performing Arts Learning Center hosted at Mililani High School)  will be presenting, RENT, School Edition for our fall production.

Rent, the musical is composed and written by Jonathan Larson and based on the opera by Puccini, La Boheme.  The story follows a life of young artists and musicians struggling to survive and have their voice heard in New York's Lower East Side. Characters struggle with relationships, their own sexual identity, AIDS/HIV, drugs, and the importance of loving yourself.  This rock musical was adapted for high school performers and audiences to play and understand the mature nature of these characters stories and challenges.

Central Theatre Arts Academy's production of Rent, School Edition includes students from 6 different high schools on Oahu including: Radford High School, Castle High School, Kaimuki High School, Kapolei High School, Kalani High School and Mililani High School.  We are excited to bring together these hardworking and talented individuals to the stage! Please help us spread the word!
