Hawaii “Shakes” – Auditions for 17th Season
The Hawaii Shakespeare Festival will hold four days of open auditions for its seventeenth season. Auditions will be held on Sunday, April 15 from 1pm to 4pm at Windward Community College in Hale Pālanakila, Room 224; Tuesday, April 17 from 6pm to 9pm at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Kennedy Theatre in Studio S; Wednesday, April 18 at Leeward Community College from 4:30pm to 6:30pm in AM-101; and Saturday, April 21 at Kumu Kahua Theatre from 2pm to 5pm.
The seventeenth season features All’s Well That Ends Well, with an all-female cast, directed by Tony Pisculli;King Lear, directed by R. Kevin Garcia Doyle; and Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler, directed by Harry Wong III. Performance dates run from July 13 to August 19 at the recently renovated The ARTS at Marks Garage.
Auditioners don't need to prepare anything, but should come ready to move. Auditions will consist of cold readings and some movement and improvisation work.
