Private Lives

by Noel Coward

directed by Eden Lee Murray

April 6 - 15

Description: Amanda and Elyot discover themselves second-honeymooning with their new (B-list) partners in adjacent rooms at the same elegant French hotel. Left alone briefly on the twilight terrace, passions fueled by champagne cocktails and romantic memories, Amanda and Elyot realize that they still have feelings for each other, and the game is on as they race away to grab at a second chance, leaving Victor and Sibyl, the pair of jilted newlyweds, behind to pick up the pieces.

A stylish romp—exquisite, high-end costumes from the ‘30’s, nostalgic music from that age—a piece of pure entertainment, deliberately intended by Coward to divert audiences’ attention from the international financial depression, and impending tragedy as the globe hurtled toward World War II.
