EPOCH Announces Cast of Rajiv Joseph’s Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo

(Honolulu, HI)—Empowering People of Color Hawai‘i (EPOCH) is proud to announce that after a great audition turnout for Rajiv Joseph’s 2009 Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, co-directors Maseeh Ganjali and Edo Natasha have cast some of Hawai‘i’s finest talents for the second show of its inaugural season. Chosen as a 2008 Outstanding New American Play by the National Endowment for the Arts, this play explores sin, friendship, the meaning of life and death, and post-traumatic stress disorder through ghostly metaphors set against the Iraq War (2003-2011).

“The lives of two American Marines and an Iraqi translator are forever changed by an encounter with a quick-witted tiger who haunts the streets of war-torn Baghdad attempting to find meaning, forgiveness and redemption amidst the city's ruins. Rajiv Joseph's groundbreaking new American play explores both the power and the perils of human nature.” -- Dramatists Play Service
