Chaminade Collegiate Theatre Festival: The Virtue in Propaganda
Chaminade University presents an original work, The Virtue in Propaganda by UHM graduate Michelle Huynh. Director and Chaminade faculty member, Chris Patrinos will be presenting this new work as a staged reading in graphic novel style. A woman living in the countryside of Saigon adopts a young “lai” girl. Living in war-stricken Vietnam during 1974, the girl must learn to adapt to her surroundings especially when she is seen as the outcast of the village. The story follows her as she tries to overcome her battles with society, culture and family ties while trying to survive the war and political conflict consuming her village. The Virtue in Propaganda will “air” August 11th & 12th at 7:30pm at the Loo Theatre.
