HTS #234- Let's Hit The Streets
Aloha everyone, and welcome to the 234th issue of Hitting the Stage!
This weekend at The Leeward Theatre, they are having their annual fundraiser for their Fall Production! This one is called The Monsters & Maidens Burlesque, with the theme being fantasy and role-playing games, but with a racy burlesque twist. Totally developed by current students and alumni, this is bound to be a fun evening! Add a +2 to your roll and check them out over the next two weekends!
Continuing productions this weekend include Choir Boy at TAG- The Actors' Group, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Theatre Found, The Ballad of Mu Lan by HTY- Honolulu Theatre for Youth, and Who Killed Gilbert Botello? at Kumu Kahua Theatre.
That's a lot of shows! Should you see them all? Yes. Can you see them all? Yes. Will you need to clone yourself to maybe? Maybe.
In terms of reviews, I have two to deliver to you today: Tali Ariav has written about Who Killed Gilbert Botello? in It was a Dark and Stormy Night... and Wil Kahele has written about The Ballad of Mu Lan in The Ballad of Mu Lan Packs a Punch at HTY.
Interested in writing for Hitting the Stage? If you or someone you know has something to say about a production you've seen, we welcome Community Reviews! Send them over to us and we'll publish them in our next issue!
See you all next week!
