HTS #233- A Unanimous Verdict
Aloha everyone, and welcome to the 233rd issue of Hitting the Stage!
More and more theatre keeps happening! The first shows of Kumu Kahua Theatre and Honolulu Theatre for Youth are about to open, with Who Killed Gilbert Botello? opening on Thursday at Kumu and The Ballad of Mu Lan opening at HTY's Tenney Theatre on Friday. Continuing this week as well, we have Choir Boy at TAG, The Actor's Group, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Theatre Found (and of which we have two reviews this week!), and Twelf Nite O' Whateva! at Hawaiian Mission Houses.
HTS Staff Reviewers Wil Kahele and Ryan Okinaka both went to see The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. It's been a while since there has been two reviews of a show, so I think this calls for a celebration after the jury reads off their verdict. You can find Wil's review here and Ryan's review here.
As always, I want to encourage you to submit to Hitting the Stage! Sometimes we fall short in terms of getting our reviewers out to shows, and thus not everything is covered in a timely manner. If you see a production and have something to say about it, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will make sure your review is posted up the next issue that we have! We here at Hitting the Stage want to continue the discussion and dialogue of theatre here in our islands- we are only one step though. The next step may lie with you!
See you next week!
