Performing Arts Center of Kapolei Presents ‘13’
Performing Arts Center of Kapolei presents the musical 13 March 3through 17 at Kapolei High School. This high-energy show with a cast of 24 teens, features music and lyrics by Tony Award-winner Jason Robert Brown and book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn. The production is directed by Meagan Olson, with choreography by Leslea White and musical direction by Justin Ka’upu and Alan Salvador.
A hilarious, coming-of-age musical about discovering that “cool” is sometimes where we least expect it, 13 follows Evan Goldman as he moves from New York City to a small Indiana town. Grappling with his parents’ divorce, and preparing for his Bar Mitzvah, Evan navigates the complicated social circles of a new school.
13 made Broadway history as the only show to ever feature an exclusively teenage cast. PACK is also featuring an amazing group of talented teens from nine different Oahu public schools. PACK is pleased to have Devin Teruya is an 8th grade student from Moanalua Middle School playing Evan Goldberg and Angeleia Ordonez, a freshman from Kapolei High School as Patrice. We also have a cast of seasoned young rising stars who have performed across the island at various locations including Castle Performing Arts Center and Diamond Head Theatre.
13 opens Friday, March 3 at 7pm and continues through March 17-Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Thursdays at 6pm. Tickets are $6 for general admission and $10 online or $12 at the door for VIP seating, and can be purchased at http://13atpack.bpt.me/ or by visiting the box office the day of performances.
