‘The Legend of Georgia McBride’ is Anything but a Drag at MVT
HONOLULU (November 1, 2017)— Manoa Valley Theatre continues its 49th season with the flamboyantly funny comedy and Hawaii premiere of The Legend of Georgia McBride November 9 – 26, 2017. This is the story of Elvis impersonator, Casey, who’s young and broke. His landlord is knocking at the door, and he’s just found out his wife is going to have a baby. To make matters even more desperate, Casey is fired from his gig as an Elvis impersonator in a run-down, small-town Florida bar. When the bar owner brings in a B-level drag show to replace his act, Casey finds that he’s going to have to adapt to a whole new show business like none he’s ever known as he trades one sequined outfit for another and genderbends into a drag show headliner.
