Hello everyone, and welcome to Issue #198 of Hitting The Stage!

UchinaAloha is Kumu Kahua's opening show this season, and we have two reviews lined up for you! Managing Director Troy M. Apostol offers his thoughts on the play in Playing With Subtlety, Playing Strong and Community Reviewer Allan Okubo weighs in with A Wonderful Take on the Instruments of Change.

In addition to two reviews, we've got two features to match! Tom Holowach shares some interesting tidbits about the production of 1776 - The Musical which opens this week in Hear ye, hear ye! 1776 Opens this Week at Palikū Theatre!

Also, last week, the UHM Department of Theatre + Dance hosted the residency of highly-acclaimed Educator, Director and Author Libby Appel, Artistic Director Emeritus of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Troy has put together words shared with those who attended her week-long workshop last week in Reflections: Libby Appel Workshop at UHM.
