‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ – Final Weekend
The reviews are in for our invented language production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream:
“… succeeds as both an experiment and a faithful interpretation …”
“… this show works, and it works beautifully ….”
“…the funniest, fastest, and best directed version [of the Mechanicals’ play within a play] I have seen in my life …”
This experimental production of Shakespeare’s delirious comedy of fairies meddling in the romantic lives of mortals, is presented in invented language. Shakespeare’s words are translated, syllable by syllable, preserving the rhyme and meter, into Greek-ish and Fairie, forcing the company to present the story through physicality, intonation and intention, creating a unique experience for audiences.
Closes Sunday, August 21. Tickets are going fast. Don’t miss out! Standby tickets are free at the door (if available, first-come-first-served). Advance reservations are available through BrownPaperTickets for just $10.
