DIAMOND HEAD THEATRE PRESENTS

“Mamma Mia!”

EXTENDED- Show now runs from July 15 – August 14, 2016

HONOLULU, HI (Wednesday, July 6, 2016)

We are pleased to announce that after almost 14 years of making history on Broadway, the multiple Tony®nominated musical Mamma Mia! is coming to Diamond Head Theatre!  Show opens July 15, 2016.

DHT has been offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity…to be the FIRST community theatre in the country to do the show, which is closing in September after 5,765 performances.

Mamma Mia! is the story of bride-to-be Sophie and her search for her estranged father. Her mother has raised Sophie alone on a remote Greek island, refusing to reveal her father’s identity.  Sophie uncovers some probable candidates and invites three of them to her wedding, unbeknownst to Mom.

What follows is a sweet and often funny sequence of events perfectly propelled by familiar ABBA pop tunes such as “Dancing Queen”, “Knowing Me, Knowing You”, “Take a Chance on Me” and of course the title song, “Mamma Mia”.

Playing mother of the bride “Donna Sheridan” is Alison Aldcroft, the bride “Sophie Sheridan” is played bySarah Halford.

The show is directed by original Mamma Mia Broadway cast member, Kimee Balmilero. With choreography by choreographer to the stars and and original DHT Shooting Star’s member, Mark Kanemura. Mamma Mia! will be playing from July 15 until August 14, 2016.
