Quick Pics: Twelfth Night at Hawaii Shakespeare Festival
Hawaii Shakespeare Festival 2016 kicked off last week Friday with Twelfth Night, directed by Jason Kanda. As HSF is no stranger to putting modern twists on Shakespeare, be it through costumes, language, (Stay tuned forTony Pisculli’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream) or gender-bending characters, Kanda’s interpretation of Twelfth is no exception, with selfie sticks, Lolita maidens, and a cosplay drag queen Olivia. Live music by Feste (performed by Sean-Joseph Choo) is also a delight.
In addition to advance tickets being available online, as always (brownpapertickets.com,) free standby tickets are also available. Which in other words means, expect a full house every show, and come early if you wish to get a ticket at the door!
